Showering with unfiltered water
Showering with unfiltered water wasn’t exactly the most comfortable thing due to the fact that tap water dried the skin and hair out and making hair so dry it was brittle and thinning. Most people had to use a lot of moisturizing soaps and shampoos because the water left many people having severe dry skin. Hard water has minerals in it that can be hard on the skin and hair and that results in severe chapping and chafing. Unfiltered water for bathing has also caused major eye irritation when people washed their hair because of the heavy minerals that are found in unfiltered tap water. Also tap water contains traces of chlorine which is also a major triggering factor in people who have allergies and sinus issues and it’s been noted that the steam from the shower contains a 100 times the amount of chlorine because it evaporates out quickly at a lower heated temperature. Much of the water is chlorinated to kill germs found in urine and fecal matter and other disease causing bacteria that would end up in the water supply. Some are advised to do some research about showerheads that can be purchased with filters so when someone showers they can shower and lower the hardening of the water that causes skin irritation and hair drying and thinning. By using a filter on the showerhead actually helps to eliminate or even reduce the chlorination and other elements that end up in the water we drink. This is where many who are concerned with what is in the water to research on appropriate filtration and systems that will reduce and/or eliminate the toxins that end up in the water. When filtration is added to a shower it also helps with conditioning the hair and skin better since there’s a lot to say for the fact that filtered water lowers the elements that will dry and parch skin and also cause severe dryness and thinning of the hair. If cities stopped using chemicals to treat water and to work on alternative means to sanitize water a lot of the health problems would subside, but in the case of water used in toilets it’s necessary to cut the germs down in human urine and fecal matter. Then comes the issue with the fact that some people bathe with ground water which isn’t wise it’s contaminated far worse than regular treated tap water because in some rural communities have farms and have animals and live stock and their fecal matter from using the bathroom in fields and near streams and rivers can contribute to the contamination of a fresh water source. What also doesn’t help is that farmers have installed underground tanks to hold liquid animal fecal matter until they have a hazardous waste service to pick it up, but in time the tanks do wear out and can leak toxic waste into ground water that eventually end up in the homes of those who depend on water for their daily needs including bathing by shower or bath. |
